ARTIST | ARCHITECT | AUTHOR
Art, architecture and culture through the lens of cities, memory and landscape.

Maria Gabriela Cherem Luft is an architect and urban planner, visual artist, watercolor painter and author of watercolor illustrated books.
Her work emerges from the meeting between architecture, art and memory. Through hand drawing and watercolor, Gabriela explores natural and urban landscapes, historic buildings, cities, coastlines, cultural heritage and meaningful places.
Born in Florianópolis, Brazil, she lived in Florence, Italy, where she deepened her relationship with art, museums, exhibitions, historic architecture and restoration. This experience broadened her view of cities and strengthened an artistic production marked by observation, delicacy and a strong connection to places.
In 2014, she founded Garage Atelier in downtown Florianópolis, near the Metropolitan Cathedral. The space began as an art and architecture studio and became a place for creation, teaching, research and cultural project development.
At Garage Atelier, Gabriela creates original watercolors, Fine Art prints, authorial books, illustrated products, courses, workshops, exhibitions, maps, cultural projects and architecture and interior design proposals.
Her work values landscape, urban memory, heritage and the identity of places, transforming cities and stories into images, books, objects and visual experiences.
